That's Life!
"One day you're a superstar because you pooped in the toilet like a big boy, and the next day you're sitting in the principal's office because you said the word "poopy" in class" - Dav Pilkey
Toilet Training
Equipment + Encouragement = Potty Star!
It's a Toilet Thing.
A toddler has a few independent milestones in their development and going to the toilet is a major one. One that you should be prepared for. You will have seen plenty of books on the subject and are never short of people offering advice but are you aware of the variety of equipment available?
When to toilet train?
After the age of about 2 they will naturally look to their role models (you) and start to try and copy you. If your toddler is training in the summer then the chances are they will be outside a lot and "accidents" are easily dealt with. For those of us in the UK though this might not be as easy and therefore we tend to start getting them used to going in the form of providing them with a little version of a big person's toilet
THE POTTY!!!
Thankfully there are a lot of cool and fun products out there to help you both make things fun along the way.
- Keep mess to a minimum with an easy pour groove.
- Encourage them to the potty with a friendly froggy face
- Double up as a step-up-stool for teeth brushing time
- Executive model with a toilet roll holder and flusher with sound effects
Even if they do take their copying too far and decide that Daddy's marathon sit downs are they way to go, there are even potty story books that you can read to them while they do their business.
Finally, when they’ve gotten used to going the toilet by themselves, you can clear up any of their fears about falling down that HUGE porcelain bowl by using a toilet trainer seat.
You might also wonder how to potty toilet train on the move, well whether you are out in the car, train or even cycling you can keep up all your good work by taking along a travel potty.
